The Evolution Series 4 bike lock by Kryptonite rates as an "Strong Defense" lock with a security rating of 4 out of 6 by A&Js'. This lock is ideal for moderate to high crime areas. Its 9/16 of an inch hardened steel shackle resists all leverage and cutting attacks. The cylinder is also reinforced and features an anti-drill, anti-pull mechanism. An enhanced design also fights against any twisting attacks. A sliding dust cover is in place to protect the lock from the elements.

The double deadbolt locking mechanism offers high security and the disc-style cylinder comes with up to 1 million different key variations. The center key location as well as a dual overhead cam locking mechanism resists leverage attacks. The Evolution Series 4 comes with 3 keys. One of the keys is lighted with a high intensity, replaceable bulb for ease of use in the dark.
