Twitter helps relocate stolen bike

by Administrator 24. March 2010 07:43

A messenger left his bike outside an office building in New York City to make a quick pickup. He didn't want to take the time to lock his bike, so he just looped his U-lock through the wheel to give the appearance of being locked. The pickup took a few more minutes than he expected, and when he returned, his bike was gone.

He immediately sent out a Twitter message that his bike was stolen. He included a quick description and some pictures of his bike that he already had on his phone. It traveled through several networks and was reposted on several bike enthusiast forums. Two and a half hours later, someone saw the bike outside a deli and reunited it with its owner.

Protect your bicycle from thieves by securing it with a bike lock. Start protecting your investment today by purchasing a quality bike lock.
